Event Management—Cross-County Roadshows
Many times foreign tourist boards only have one chance to travel to the United States annually, and when they do so it's important to network with as many travel partners in as many key markets as possible. For several years running CDMS has planed and implemented cross-country roadshows for the Kenya Tourist Board. These roadshows consist of visits to four or five key markets over a two-week period during which travel agent educational seminars, media briefings and consumer networking events are held. CDMS works to organize the schedule, work together with industry associations to help plan events in the key markets, negotiate hotel and transportation rates, promote all activities and lead the delegation as the North American representative.
In the first year, nine suppliers joined the roadshow and in 2005 due to increased interest from suppliers both in the United States and in Kenya nineteen suppliers will be joining the Kenya Tourist Board and CDMS on the roadshow. Critical to the success of this annual program are the creative ideas, innovative promotional concepts and strong relationships CDMS brings to the planning and implementation process.
